the task was to refine and enrich the wooden estate built recently close to local traditions. a place of luxury in regards of abundance of space, an extensive park, a graceful seemingly historic setting but also luxury due to the release a simple, highly sustainable outdoor living brings.

 
 

Ancestral shrine

a massive stair, axial to the property’s main entrance, leads up to the shrine hall, which constitutes the heart of the premises, architectonically as much as for meaning and believes. A new altar shall give due reference to the ancestors of the family and gathers people occasionally for spiritual ceremonies. 

 

master bedroom

two existing rooms combined allowed for a continuous sequence of rooms from study over walk-in closet to bedroom. enlarged windows yet in the spirit of the existing structure, connects the interior with the landscape, namely the natural pond on the back of the house and guarantees for comfortable night cooling.

 

Pond

a new, shallow pool framed with prefabricated concrete elements resembling antique sandstone profiling, brings serenity into the court as it reflects buildings, frangipani trees and establishes conducive distance between the various functions around the pool. 

 

GUEST HOUSE

with minimal measures, attention to material and details, light and colours, was this rustic wooden house turned into a fine accommodation for guests with all amenities of a high end hotel, with the principles applied for the compound combined in one.
