a building in central phnom penh, a conglomerate of colonial fragments and various later additions and amendments, was to be turned into a music recording studio of high standards. local and international artists shall rehearse, record and relax on site at any hour of the day.

special attention was given to room proportions that provide the best possible recording qualities. every recoding chamber is accessed via sound lock. the sound locks between recording rooms and balconies maintained the integrity of the façade and protect from sound emissions from the street. a lounge with bar on the first floor allows for relaxation between the sessions.

Specially insulated wall, ceiling and floor claddings ensure a maximum sound absorption, ideal for digital recording. air-conditioners installed outside the sensitive zones connect to the recording chambers and sound locks with highly sound absorbing air ducts.
